reVolution reWind [Jan. 31st, 2007|05:48 pm]

When last we looked, the Revolution was spinning as planned. The thing about revolutions is you're going in circles. Cycles. The Dueling. Cycle. The same players over and over and over again until one-- skips-- the-- track.

This is not Tenjou Utena's entry post.

The rose petals are green. That's how you know.

They flood the doorway, scatter over the floor, blanket it till it's like thick, floral carpet, from corner to corner, leaving the pungent aroma of roses from floor to ceiling, a thick miasma of near-choking perfume. Is that a glass coffin, there among them?

Of course not.

That's the red chassis of a car; a sleek, topless car -- but there is no boy spread out, his uniform open with unseen photographers catching him (and others) in suggestive, near carnal congress upon the hood of the car.

No. Not that.

It's too soon.

There's a boy with a mass of green hair and a ring of silver and stone hued ping, cut into the shape of a rose.

He sits at a table, and sips tea.

Did he ever really leave? Or did someone just -- flip the record, start the next groove?

It comes down to this:
Backbeat, the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is out.
The revolution of the world begins with one person.

I walk a lonely road, the only one that I have ever known

There's a party at the Kiryuu's. He gets into the garage without any trouble. It only takes a minute to detach the sidecar.

Don't know where it goes but it's the only one I've ever known and I walk alone

He called his father this morning. His father isn't happy. He said they rented out his room to a female student; he could hear her talking to his mother. Laughing.
I know, you heard it all before but you never really had a doubt
Her voice sounded familiar.
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
He wonders if the phone lines even leave Ohtori. He thinks about them squirming through the walls of the dorm, like worms in a corpse, and he hangs up the phone.

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me

It doesn't matter.

My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating

The music is loud; probably nobody hears Touga's bike start up.
And maybe
As he chugs out into the drive he thinks he almost sees a flash of blonde hair in the window. He almost stops and calls out.
You could've been the one to save me
Almost, almost, almost.
And after all
This way to the highway.

Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me, but until then I walk alone

He gets out on the road and he starts to accelerate; he can't help it. He doesn't know where he's going, he's got no money, and he's proven to himself amply before that he simply can't survive this way. It's crazy.
Every day I wake up and it's Sunday
The radio keeps playing old music
STOP, say the words on the asphalt.

And what's a wonderwall anyway?

All the roads we have to walk are winding
And all that lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
and I don't know how

Sing with me

It beats the alternatives.

For the revolution of the world.

If the egg's shell does not break, the chick will die without being born.

We are the chick; the egg is the world.

If the world's shell does not break, we will die without being born.

Break the world's shell!

For the revolution of the world.

Police Report, City of Ohtori

The body of a high school student, Saionji Kyouichi, washed up on the shore outside the carnival on the north side of the bay. Death was by drowning. Police theorize that the young man, a student at Ohtori Academy, swam out to sea beyond his range and was unable to make it back to shore. Waitstaff at a noodle shop on the southern side of the bay recalled seeing the young man, who entered and exited several times, appearing confused, and left without buying anything, headed towards the seashore.

It is possible that he became disoriented and tried to swim towards the lights of the ferris wheel, visible on the opposite side of the bay.

[Dec. 1st, 2006|11:13 pm]

The semester is about to end; it has to, eventually, he supposes, but it's still kind of a surprise when it happens.

It snuck up on him, in a way.

There's a letter in his locker.

He's failing English.

He has to repeat his senior year.

There's a balcony in his dorm room (and how weird is that? he registers, suddenly, after months in this same room). He leans on the rail, staring out blankly.

He wants to talk to someone, but no one knows what he knows. Remembers what he remembers. As far as he knows.

Nanami walks by.

(I would like... to request...)

He could go back home. Face his father. Finish high school in Hokkaido.

He's got no illusions about what it would mean to repeat a year in Ohtori. Funny way to put it, he thinks--illusions. Ohtori. Repetition.

There's a motorized purr as Touga drives by on his motorbike. The sidecar is empty.

He can't think here. He has to get off the campus, go someplace he can think.

There's got to be a way out.

(I would like to request a transfer.)

(Please... don't open it.)

It's a funny thing--but by the time Saionji reaches his dorm room, his hair has grown back.

Ohtori doesn't like change.

It takes some time for him to be prepared to address Antigone again, but finally he buys a familiar sort of red notebook from the commissary and sits down with a pen.

The back door slams open, and Saionji bolts out, still carrying the charred hilt of a wooden practice sword in one hand. His hair is burnt short.

He looks around wildly for somewhere to go, and fixes on the stables. The door is hanging half-open, and there seems to have been some damage; some of the stalls are empty. There's a pile of hay in the corner still, though, and he collapses into it, covering his face with his hand. Sobbing and gagging.

The things he did. The things he said. The things he sang.

All the memories, coming back.

Finale [Aug. 23rd, 2006|10:49 am]

Flow of blood from the cage of my memory,
In the cradle of a thousand years of bliss.
And I, an actor cast eternally
as the Sphinx in the desert winter.
Now you know the sadness
of the stillborn flesh.
And I, a holy actor, cast eternally
as a dark shining Margineaux, cast into Hell.

Cool down,
and sing!

Born in this world,
born in an instant,
born all over again.

Reprise [Aug. 23rd, 2006|12:08 am]

There was no girl
She left and we forgot the girl
They say she transferred very far, very far
And we forgot
her face and name and such a lot
But one did not.

So then one day
Anthy up and walked away
And while we never spoke of things
Still it seemed
This she said to me:

was just

an empty movement."

We forgot. We forgot.... everything. As if it never happened. And now...

Who am I?

Bridge & Acts 3 and 4 [Aug. 22nd, 2006|11:25 pm]

Have you heard? Have you heard? Have you heard the news?

Do you really think he's close with him?
Well, there he is. Let's ask him
Saionji, is that the Prince's ring you're wearing?
Gee, it must be great riding with him
Is he picking you up after school today?
By the way, where'd you meet him?

I met him in the training room
He drove his car right through the door
Is that impossible? (yes, it is)
And I got in with (the chairman of the school)

Touga had told me he was World's End (end end)
He promised we'd be the best of friends
(hey didn't you say that there's no such thing as friends?)
he said he could show me--ummm
I don't know, he showed me--uuugh
What did he show me-- (the chairman of the school)

When I came back I fought a duel (duel, duel)
My mind was sharp and cold and cruel
(he kicked Miki why 'cause he was cruel)
But Tenjou knocked me asiiide
And Touga made me his briiide
And we turned against him -- (the chairman of the school)

I saw eternity the other night
Like a ring of pure and endless light
As calm as it was bright

And beneath it, time in hours days and years
Were driven by the spheres.

Look out! Look out! Look out! Look out!

Me and Touga did all we could do
To stop Tenjou from getting through
We wanted it for ourselves
but we also tried -- we tried to heeelp
But she had to fight him (the chairman of the school)

The chairman of the school - and now she's gone
The chairman of the school - and now she's gone
The chairman of the school - and now she's gone
The chairman of the school - and now she's gone
